Roles

• Organize teaching-learning, develop curriculum and teaching materials;
• Reinforce the creativity of staff to be employed and improve the management skills of staff effectively;
• Encourage staff to upgrade their profession and research endeavors.
• Improve the efficiency of human resources management to be capable of applying scientific knowledge and skills in administration;
• Develop leadership for educational practitioners and to be equipped with ethics and ability to draft strategic plans and implementation with creativity; and
• Monitor and evaluate teaching-learning management.

Responsibilities of Department of Educational Administration

1) Organizing teaching-learning and training    

-    Implement and disseminate strategic plans of the FED, NUOL, and related policies;

-    Educate political ideology, manners, legislations and laws for teachers and students within the department in accordance with three characteristics and five principles of education;

-    Organize teaching-learning following the curriculum and its goals in strengthening the professionalism of staff in terms of educational administration;

-    Encourage teachers to create teaching materials;

-    Organize class observations and provide feedback;

-    Organize training courses on teaching-learning management for teachers; 

-    Plan the programs, projects for academics and related activities;

-    Evaluate and improve curriculum consistently with the development plan of FED; and

-     Develop the curriculum consistently with the social demand.

2) Research

-    Encourage teachers to conduct the action research (classroom-based research);

-    Conduct research, develop innovation, teaching techniques and methodology; and

-    Disseminate and utilize the research findings and innovation for the improvement of educational quality.

3) Social services

-    Encourage teachers to provide academic services

4) Protection and promotion of Lao culture

-      Encourage teachers and students of the department to actively participate in promotion of traditional art and culture of ethnic groups as well as the nation;

-      Organize the activities to widely promote the traditional art and culture of ethnic groups as well as the nation; and

-      Adopt and promote cultures of the world properly.
